Purpose of the Organization:

Arrowbear Lake Firefighters Association

The Arrowbear Lake Firefighters Association is a non-profit organization, whose members are made up of volunteer firefighters that operate Station 271 in Arrowbear Lake, California.  The organization supports the local community by donating time and resources to events and projects throughout the year to improve health and safety awareness.

Annual Activities:

Local businesses donate items for a raffle drawing during our summer picnic. We also sell Association t-shirts to help raise funds.  We also receive donations from the firefighters, the public, and local businesses.

4th of July Community Picnic - the entire community is welcome to enjoy this free family event which includes food provided by the firefighters along with water play for children.  The fire engines and water tender are on display throughout the event.  It is a free event for the community to help promote safety and awareness to the public.

 Open House – the entire community is invited to Station 271 to meet and greet with the firefighters.  Demonstrations and explanations of some of the tools and techniques used in rescue operations.  Hands on CPR is taught.  Complimentary food and beverages are served throughout the event.  It is a free event for the community to help promote safety and awareness to the public.


Holiday Meal Disbursement - in conjunction with Mountain Helping Hands, the ABLF Association donates monetary funds to purchase Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for some of the local residents of Running Springs, Arrowbear Lake, and Green Valley Lake. ABLFD firefighters also assist with handing out the meals to the families and hand deliver them to residents that are unable to pick them up at the Robert Hootman Community Center in Running Springs.

 Santa Clause Comes to Town - the entire community is invited to Station 271 to visit with Santa Claus and tour the station.  It is a free event for the community to help promote safety and awareness to the public.
